WELCOME!
Dear Parents,
We wish to welcome you to
Teddy Bear Corner, and hope
you will enjoy the many
services we provide. Our
programs have been designed
to offer you and your child
the quality you would expect
from a day care center.
Teddy Bear Corner operates
two centers which are
situated in residential
areas of Fairfield. Both
facilities incorporate the
latest in security and
monitoring systems. Fire,
smoke, heat and gas
detection devices are
throughout the buildings.
Video and audio recorders
and emergency/ medical
response units are at near
reach. Only parents and
invited guests have access
through our locked security
doors. Our programs are
fully insured, and licensed
by the State of Connecticut.
Both centers are open Monday
- Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30
PM, twelve months a year.
Teddy Bear Corner is
determined to provide your
child with a warm, relaxed,
and nurturing environment.
The low child-to-teacher
ratio will ensure that each
child gets the attention
they deserve from a quality
day care facility. Our
programs are designed with
developmentally appropriate
toys and equipment that give
children the chance to
explore, discover, and
learn.
Our goal at Teddy Bear is to
provide a positive, home-
like atmosphere where
children can learn the give
and take of social
interaction. The principles
of early childhood education
are used to create age
appropriate activities that
reinforce a child's natural
curiosity and allow them to
experience challenges and
achievements, while
bolstering his or her
self-confidence. We believe
that the best way for young
children to
learn is through play and
exploration, therefore, we
base our program on an
academic, hands-on
curriculum.
Our dedicated and well
trained staff is certified
in pediatric first
aid/safety and CPR. The
Director and teachers are
trained and licensed by the
Stale of Connecticut to
administer both OTC and
prescription medication. Our
staff work hard to maintain
a safe and healthy, learning
environment. These
surroundings-help the
children learn the skills
they need to gain
independence and explore the
world around them. Teachers
coordinate a developmentally
appropriate curriculum based
on the interests and needs
of the children. "Hands-on"
activities and play are used
to introduce the children to
science, math, art,
language, cooking, music and
movement.
Our Infant/Toddler Program
cares for children 6 weeks
to 3 years. The center is
divided into five
classrooms. Our Infant Rooms
are specifically designed
for children who are
approximately 6 weeks to 7
months and 8 months to 14
months. Our Toddler Rooms
are set up for children who
are approximately 14 months
to 24 months and 25 months
to 36 months. The Early
Learning Center is designed
for children ages 2 to 3
years old and 3 to 5 years
old. All of our spacious
classrooms are equipped with
developmentally appropriate
equipment, toys, and
activities.
We believe that learning
should take place
everywhere, including
outside. Both of our centers
boast a large, grassy
playground equipped with
developmentally appropriate
climbers, a garden that the
children and teachers care
for themselves, a wonderful
"bike track" complete with a
car wash and, of course,
plenty of push toys, ride-on
tricycles and the baby
buggies. We also have a
smaller play area for the
younger children, picnic
tables, shaded sandboxes,
and outside easels to
inspire our young artists.
Teddy Bear Corner provides
the children with two
healthy snacks everyday. Our
registered nurse visits both
programs on a weekly basis.
She maintains our medical
records and ensures the
safety of our programs. We
provide the children with
disposable diapers and baby
wipes, also provided are the
basic linens for the cribs
and cots. All of these
services are included in the
tuition. Monthly workshops
may be held on family
matters, parenting and early
childhood education. We also
hold regular Parent Council
Meetings which we encourage
all of our parents to
attend.
The basic theory behind
Teddy Bear Corner is to
provide a quality, home-like
environment where children
can discover and learn.
Communication and parent
involvement are extremely
important in helping us meet
the individual needs of your
child We value close
personal relationships
between children, parents
and teachers. We want to
provide a program where
parents and teachers work
together as a team to
provide the
highest level of quality
care for the children.
Everyone at Teddy Bear
Corner is dedicated to
making your child's day care
experience a truly happy
one. For your child, for
yourself, let Teddy Bear be
there.
Please feel free to see me
if you have any questions.
